He has worked for over 15 years with the United States Gypsum Company (USG) at their Research and Development Center near Chicago, U.S.A. USG is the premier manufacturer of building materials for commercial and residential construction. Viren Bakhshi was involved in the development of acoustical materials and systems for sound and noise control.

He is also an accomplished designer of high end audio amplifiers and speakers. This complements his experience in acoustics, in his understanding of the use of sound reinforcement systems in public spaces.
